Well I did it… I went in ysterday to the school here in Salina and talked to who I needed to talk to about Trenton playing football and attending 1 hour at their school. They seemed ok with it… I had everything in tow… I had the virtual school rules and regulations of dual enrollment. I had proof he was enrolled in the virtual school. I had the school address, email, web addy, phone numbers, fax numbers, and the princples email. I had the emails from the school saying my children were enrolled and to let them know if Trenton dual enrolls. I even had the rules for the Kansas Atheletic Asscoiation on that it was legal. I had everything that they could possibly need in front of them to make a decsion. They took copies of it all and are taking it to the Board of Education… So now I am waiting for them to call me back either way. Hopefully they wil allow it and if so then we opened the door for homeschoolers here in Salina.

Well we have an offical desion this year for school. We are still homeschooling I will never give that up. But with Trenton now in 8th grade and being the football player he is we had to do some major praying and deciding what was best for our family. We had a football team pop up in our face in Manhattan which is an hour and a half away 1 way and with practice being 3 times a week and then games thats a lot of driving. Now that Glen is working nights Thursday, Fri, Sat and Sundays I am like a single Mom just not…. With the Gas prices the trip to Manhattan was not feezible. So we began looking at other options. My best friend has also desided to bring her kids home to get them out of the Public School System due to some complications they were having with the Public School System. Then it came up that Grandma wouldnt be able to watch them everyday all day while Mom and Dad were at work so they asked me. Well I wasnt sure how it would work at first as I already have 6 kids 1 being a baby that I breast feed and he takes a lot of my time. I just didnt want to feel like I was neglecting their kids because my kids would come first. They understood and told me that they were going to do the K12 program … I had actually looked into it last year but didnt have time to get it all out to get them enrolled… So Glen and I talkied about it and prayed about it and decided that this was our answer at this point and time in our lifes. We decided to give the K12 program a try as they would send us everything and I wouldnt have to try to prepare lessons for 8 children with help of course…. SO I did it…. I sent the paper work in and This morning I got the call they have recieved all my paperwork for my kids to be entered into the k12 program…. The nice thing is that now Trenton can also play football if the school district we live in will allow him to dual enroll so it has all opened up… I am so glad for The answers to prayers. I know sometimes it isnt the answers you want but this has truely turned out I feel for the better at this point anyway… And if it doesnt work we can always do something different next year. My kids are all excited though too as they love doing workbooks and was wanting more….
